Custom URL fails on Galleries

I have set custom URL/Domain so my site and folders appear as photos.mydomain.com, however clicking on any Gallery reverts back to www.smugmug.com/gallery/short-link

Furthermore, there is none of my customisation for the gallery shown. There is no menu or logo or breadcrumbs, instead I have SM logo and footer.

This behaviour is same for every Gallery that i have.

Any advice on how to make this work as it should? (Is it working for anyone else, or is this a "general" bug?)

    Hi Paul,

Sounds like the gallery is set to "Hide Owner" which removes your customization and custom URL. In the gallery settings you can change Hide Owner to NO and click Save and that should fix your problem.

THANKS. You were right. This worked.

Interesting though, in the Customisation page it still indicates in the gray top bar for the Gallery as "Password + Hide Owner", but on the Security tab it is shown as turned OFF, and more importantly on display it works.

    Again, thanks a million. :)

I have now turned OFF the Hide Owner setting and the URL is now correct and customisation is showing. Brilliant.

Not sure if related, but some Galleries are not showing the Featured image, while others do. As far as I am aware, I have the same settings for all. Which is password protected galleries, but with a featured image, which is not sensitive, showing. (The site is for school activities, and Australia is strict on privacy laws).

At first I thought that if I do this, then the Featured Image will show, but it is not consistant:

    1) Take OFF Password
    2) Remove and then re-assign Featured Image
    3) Save
    4) Assign Password
    5) Save

This is somewhat tedious, but doesn't always work either!

    Any suggestions?

Edited PS: This issue also relates to the containing Folder sometimes not showing the Featured Image.

Paul, got a link to one or more of the galleries that does not display the feature photo as the gallery thumbnail? Paste a link and I'll take a look. Or shoot the help desk an email with the link if you do not want it public.

PS: If it is password protected you can still paste it here and I will be able to access the gallery without the password since I am a SmugMug employee.
