Hi,

My keywords page seems to be picking filenames (or portions of). How can you configure to ignore filenames in new Smugmug. I cannot seem to find where to do this.

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

Account Settings > Discovery > Search
    Filename Keywording
Allow SmugMug to automatically extract keywords from your filenames.

    Hi Allen

Thanks for your reply. However it does not seem to be working. Flipping switch to 'OFF' did not seem to work. I even tried 'ON' thinking it was expecting it. Needless to say neither seemed to work.

Is there anywhere else I should be looking?

It's only for new uploads, it doesn't clean up what you have.

Thanks Allen. So is there any way to remove from existing photos so keywords display will be clean.

It won't be easy until they fix the bulk caption/keyword where you could edit a keyword gallery. Now
you have to fix every photo one by one or those in one gallery using bulk on that gallery.

Just out of curiosity, what would you have to do using bulk in one gallery?

Go to the gallery in organize and click the wrench. You'll find edit bulk caption/keyword in the drop.

This only works for photo galleries and not for keyword galleries as there are no keyword galleries in
organize. You could create a smart gallery using the keyword to draw from and edit that in organize but
you'd have to change (re-source) the gallery keyword for each keyword editing. There is a limit of 1000
KW's so if removing some, you'd have to remove (up to 1000) then repeat it again to get more.

The smart gallery can draw from multiple KW's so you can get a bunch at a time.

I have only just begun to look at the new format, and to tweak themes. I have thought it might take me a year to get all the bugs worked out of my many pages that have (unfortunately) bad HTML. So regarding keywords, can I "fix" them in some way in legacy mode, so that once I switch, there will be fewer or even no problems?

Smugmug also busted the bulk edit caption/keyword in legacy so until they fix it, create a smart gallery
to collect a keyword. Bulk should work for the smart gallery.

Another headsup before unveiling, all your gallery passwords will be hidden and show as ******* in the
NewSmug. If you want to remember these, in legacy you can see them so save each somewhere. This
is especially a problem for those with many clients.
