Links and paragraphs problems

Question: Is there any way to get the new site designs to underline or otherwise highlight the links that we have in the old smugmug gallery descriptions? I have hundreds of links scattered through my gallery descriptions. If I have to put <u> and </u> before and after each link individually to get the new site designs to underline them I could well be at it till Christmas.
And is there a way to get the new designs to paragraph the descriptions instead of removing all the paragraph formatting?

I would assume if it's a link anyway, it should work. I don't have any linkable text on my captions, so I've never tried it.

I used HTML in my descriptions if I needed / wanted paragraph formatting. I don't know any other way to force text to be formatted. Empty lines between text lines are collapsed.

In the photo descriptions in this gallery - http://www.denisegoldberg.com/Travel-stories/Wandering-assisted-by-2-feet - I added <br/> tags. I've had the same experience with gallery descriptions.
