To remove the download button set the largest display size to anything smaller than Original.
Note that a download button will always be available to you when you are logged in.

Denise, the only options are Medium, Large, XLarge, X2Large, X3Large. Which one is smaller than original. Also I have not gone live with my website yet so how do I see what the visitors see. Is it in looking at the site in "Preview"?

You can tell what sizes are available by looking in the Gallery Settings.
It sounds like you already disabled access to the Original in legacy smugmug; that setting carries over to the new smugmug.
I believe that Preview should show you the site as it is seen by a customer.

Here is a picture of my site while in Preview and the download button is still there. Have tried all the different sizes in the Gallery Settings but the download arrow still shows up in "Preview"
It is because you are logged in, don't sweat it . Once you "unveil" your site you can check it while logged out to see that the download button isn't there. If you are logged in as the account owner the download button will always be there.

Attached is a list of Setting Choices. Which one can I pick that will prevent downloading and which one should I pick to allow downloading

Downloading by visitors will only be enabled if "originals" is picked. Any other size it'll be disabled.
You logged in will always have it enabled no matter what size is picked.

But you should also be aware that anything that is visible in a web browser can be easily grabbed by a viewer. See ORIGINALS = a gateway to free photos, & right click protection is NOT PROTECTION.
