Menu changes don't show on Home page

I've created a customized menu with nesting for pages and galleries using Customize/Entire Site. The problem is that the menu on the Homepage still has the old "Home" Browse" and "Search" Shouldn't the homepage automatically assume the same structure and contents as the Entire site and the gallery and folder pages? What am I missing here.
