Nav Buttons Colors

You can select from just a few colors for your Nav Buttons, based on the Theme you pick. What do I need to do to select a color other than that select few?
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Luc,
Appreciate your help....I added the code as suggested, in both places, tried two different color codes. The color was unchanged

Hmmm... did you try the .sm-page-widget-nav as well as the .sm-page-widget-nav-toplink version?
Is the navbar on your homepage in the footer?
There is another thread here: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=237856&highlight=navbar
In the first line of post #1 (.sm-user-ui .sm-page-widget-nav-popover.sm-page-widget-nav-color-default a,) you can add a color code too {color: #xxxxxx;}
If you don't want the color to change when hovering, visited etc. the other lines may be disregarded.
Does this work?
Luc
I entered what you first suggested:
.sm-page-widget-nav-toplink {
color: #XXXXXX;
}
I replaced the XXXXXX with color codes
Are you suggesting the nav bar NEEDS to be in the footer/

No, not at all, but because the navigation was below your main image, I thought so.
Perhaps replace .sm-page-widget-nav-toplink with .sm-page-widget-nav and try again.
Luc
replace green with whatever
or perhaps ;

The following is what I put in both places:
.sm-page-widget-nav {
color: #640000;
}
That code is a deep red color. This did not change the color of my Nav Buttons.

When I entered the code in your first box, it kept the blue color of the text. However, It covered it in green. How do I just change the color of the text? I will now try toe code in the 2nd box

The code in the 2nd box did not work either? Might I need to wipe out something in the original set up of my Nav Buttons??

BTW
you enter your codes in Home section ?
you should do it in site wide section
and , 2th code worked , i just saw it on your home page
/ɯoɔ˙ƃnɯƃnɯs˙ʇlɟsɐq//:dʇʇɥ
I entered it in both the entire site and home page. I just want the text color changes, not a rectangular block of a given color covering the text

And if you try one of the following:
.sm-page-widget-nav {
color: #640000!important;
}
OR
.sm-page-widget-nav-toplink {
color: #640000!important;
}
OR
.sm-page-widget-nav-toplink.yui3-u{
color:#640000;
}
I'm just puzzled...
Luc
Tried each one of those, put each one in both spots. What is actually occurring is that the Home Page shows the text in Blue, the About shows it in Green and the Galleries shows it in White.

It looks like something overrides the code . Have you entered any CSS code before, either site-wide and/or on the homepage?
I hope someone who is more knowledgeable than me will be able to help you out.
Luc
You'll need to target the links themselves in your CSS, so something these lines should work for you:
Hope that helps!

OK, Mike - that got the Home Page text right. I applied your code the the Entire Site, as well. However, the text color elsewhere remains unaffected.

Hi Tom,
You have the "independent homepage" option turned on, and your homepage is using a separate theme from the rest of your site. If you add that CSS to the theme on one of the other pages, it should then apply to the other pages.

That worked!! Thanks, and a BIG thanks to Luc for sticking with me and trying so hard!! Another question, if I may. When you first go to my Galleries Page, the representative gallery pics seem to have a film over them, sort of like a thin tissue. How do I make those pics totally clear, and how do I adjust the gallery text labels?
Thanks
