Lives in the outhouse (there are 2 in there, but I couldn't get them close to each, so not sure of the sex of the second one) and this male just stared right back at me.

It was on the second brick up from the ground, so I was laid on my side, camera on a bean bag, using live view and manual focus. Flash mounted with softbox on.

Lovely capture Paul- angle doesn't bother me. Did some photos of one myself yesterday - sitting in a slightly better position when I spotted it- in the middle of a kitchen mat.

I'm not sure I share your enthusiasm so much on this species of Spider Paul. They're the kind of spider that I really don't like. However, they do make excellent photo subjects and you got a great shot here.
