Reverting to Legacy....

Somehow, I messed up and hit something that started me on the new and improved??? smugmug... When my smugmug is opened now it looks something like this. I cannot seem to be able to control what images are shown on the page that opens when a visitor accesses my site or the order in which the galleries are listed. That, IMO, is totally intolerable....

When I hit browse, this is what I get??? I don't like that at all either. This is really crappy looking trash!

Since, I don't like it at all. I always go back to "View Legacy Smugmug" when I am working with smugmug. I like the old fashioned smugmug because it is easier for me to locate images and to direct others to locate the images. I can control which images are shown and which are not and I can control in what order the different galleries are displayed...

Does anyone know if I can scrap the improved??? smugmug to permanently remain with the Legacy Version?

I really don't want to expend the time working to develop a new smugmug site when I was quite happy with the original site. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is my motto! I would just like to return to using the site that I originally paid to use in the way I originally paid to use it!

What is shown on your homepage is under your control. If you don't like the current look, delete the content box that you placed on that page.

You can create your own entry page to use instead of browse. The browse page is there if you need it but if you'd prefer a different look create a page with your desired content and link to it from your navbar.

You can continue to work with Legacy but you will likely need to click to legacy when you log on. I don't believe there is any way to go back to a not-yet-migrated site.

At some point in the future I believe you will need to switch to new smug. SmugMug hasn't announced a date yet but I can't imagine them continuing to support both new and old forever.

Everyone will eventually have to migrate to the NEW SM. Question... how did you learn your way around your current site?
Since no one is forcing you to change right now... why not use the same approach to learn your way around your new site.... it really won't take long... and the nice folks here will help...

    Another classic SM gaffe...

That should have been the "default" look for everyone's "new" site so that the transition would have been as smooth as possible.

    Hi there RP!

Denise is correct. You have plenty of time to build out your New SmugMug site while your Legacy site lives on for your visitors to see, until you are ready to unveil your new site. Here are a couple of links I think you may find useful. Once you start using it, it is really easy to build out pages, galleries, and folders just the way you like them.
