Grand Canyon - River and Rim

I finished up my sixth river trip back in July and I thought I'd see what folks think of the results. I had a lot to choose from, so it may be a lot to scroll through :wink. It's my favorite place on earth, so I try and always up my game each year. Constructive C&C is greatly appreciated. Or if anyone wants to just reminisce about the Canyon, that's good too!

    #7, #9 and #12 are nicely done!

Not sure if you centered some of the subjects intentionally as sometimes people do that because it works for those shots....in my unqualified opinion....here it might not be the best use of centering (#2 and #4)!

In those two cases, it was mostly intentional centering. All the more so on #4 since that tree was actually growing out of a 45° slope and I had to reframe it a bunch before I liked it. I think it's better on the horizontal. Would you have shifted the tree to the left third to be offset by the orange glow on the right, or were you thinking something else?

On #2, in hind sight, I can think of a shot that might have been cool with my 10mm lens (exaggerate the crystal at one side with some of the other deposits blurred in the background), but at the time I was focused on just trying to get the crystalline details without accidentally breaking it :). I may possibly have done that to one or two others......

Tis fun to revisit the sites in my head to reframe in new ways.

Very nice series! That slot canyon is very cool. I hear you on the intentional centering, sometimes the scene just calls for it.
