Changing Profile Cover Photo Size

Need some help. I have added the Profile content block on my entire site with a profile and cover photo image. The cover photo takes up a large amount of real estate on the height of my page and I would like to decrease that. I have tried cropping the size of my cover photo but it just stretches it out to the same height.

How can I decrease the height(dimensions) of the profile block/cover photo on my page?
