Problems begin

I'll hold off on the rants and spewing of how my life has gotten worse since the "new" Smugmug has taken over.....as I'm sure that no one wants to read the 3000+ words of what I have to say...in the first breath!

BUT...I have two big issues that are threatening me and my web site....water mark doesn't work any more and front page slide show don't work either.


I have held off on posting any galleries as I have attempted to work at learning how to setup up my NEW web page. I have not converted yet..as I am struggling to get a "new" look made.

The first thing that happened when I allowed for Smugmug to create the files in a shadow so that I could work at making a new look....was that my previous slide show of many years now is gone...and anyone visiting my site sees the greeting that this gallery needs a password to enter....and many have backed away thinking they cant go any further.....lost sales!!! :nono

I have read the file on how to fix...as it never had a password on it.....and can't figure it out. OK...for now, its the secondary issue.

Primary issue is that I just added a gallery...man what a pain in the @ss!!! Rather than go through all this...lets get to the main point.....The watermark function will NOT WORK!!!

I have tried for over an hour....clicking...resaving...clicking....resaving.....and it will not engage the water mark on my images....now anyone would screen save and get a clean screen version....NOT GOOD!!!!

SO...can some one please advise how to get the watermark to work???? :scratch

For the watermarks, how are you adding them? The correct way is to to be in the gallery you want to watermark, then click Organize > Organize Site. On the next page click the tools button (looks like a wrench) then click Watermarks. On the next page click Select All, Add, then Watermark. Clicking the Watermarking selection in the gallery settings to ON will only watermark new uploads, not existing ones.

The slideshow code in your Legacy site is quite old and is most likely missing the Album Key part of the code that is now required. If you give me a link to your site I can fix that slideshow password problem right away .

I was in the gallery....just like I have done for years.....Clicked watermark...and then the link to the watermark....chose save....still no watermark.....
Did it this way since the beginning...never had a issue getting a watermark to be shown.

onesickpuppy, we currently have a bit of a backlog in watermarking. it will get watermarked but it might take a bit longer than usual.

No problem! The homepage slideshow on your Legacy site is fixed.

Are you trying to watermark the images in Legacy view or in New SmugMug view?

Looks like our servers are behind in the watermarking process so it probably will take longer than normal tonight to watermark images. Sorry about that! Hopefully the system catches up soon.

Is this backlog also effecting the processing of keywords?

Most likely. I heard other reports of slow keyword processing but I can't actually see that data. Sorry for the slowness .

A whole 24 hours later...and still no watermarking working on the gallery!!!!

All the other galleries are working...why not the new one.

It use to be...I'd create the gallery.....go back and make the settings...and within 10 minutes....I'd see water markings.....!!!!

Now...nada!!!

This don't work for me......!

I can't answer why your watermarks aren't showing - but I suspect you would be much happier if you would set the watermark characteristic when you create the gallery or before you upload. Then the images will be watermarked as they are loaded and you won't need to wait for them to pass through the watermarking queue.

Did you use the Organizer to add the watermarks? In the gallery click Organize > Organize Site, then in the organizer click the tools button (looks like a wrench) then click Watermarks. If it still isn't working can you post a link to the gallery?
