'recent photos' gallery not showing images

posted this in another forum but no response:
With the help from Denise, I added a 'recent photos' page.
WHen in preview mode it works all the time, when looking at the published version (or logged out i guess), it will not show photos.....
Im super new at working with this new SM editing so I may have screwed something up but have no idea.
Could someone offer some assistance on this issue?
