Feature Image for Pages?

Exactly WHERE does the feature image for pages appear? I can't figure this one out. The little help icon says that users will see a thumbnail in my site navigation. How? Does it appear in a google search as a thumbnail for the page?

    It shows in the /browse menu. It would also show in a page that you created that contained the page.

    I just did an explicit search for one of my pages - the feature image does not show in the search results, only the text and the name of the page shows.

    Cool beans. So I don't really need it as I link my pages via my menu bar, and not my "browse" page. Thanks!
