A bit less realistic and more "arteest than my usual commercial look as Anylza and Ann Marie, two of my top regulars (who aren't Cyndi), joined in a shoot at an abandoned insane asylum.
Concept - Good vs. Evil BUT which is which??

Get what you're going for, and a couple of these are neat. Styling is cool. Location is cool. Very "tied together" feel (since I usually take you task on that, credit where it's due!). 5 & 6 are the best for me, although I'd tone down the blur vignette on 5.

However, still gonna smack you around a little (so what else is new?! You love it, admit it rolleyes1.gif)

You can't create "dark and moody" exclusively in post by slapping on a filter or using split toning. What you've done here is shoot in bright light, then tried to turn it into a low-key look, and it just doesn't work for me. These had/have REAL potential... but you need to think about LIGHT. Sunset would've worked. Using shadows/shade more than bright areas. Underexposing the bg's and using off camera flash. Any number of ways to do it (no matter what the time of day), but I really feel like they need that to get the "Halloween" feeling you're going for here :)

AHHH my day is complete, a (small) beating from Diva. I admit I'm a bit kinky, I enjoy it.ne_nau.gif

Anyway, you forgot to mention your # 1 complaint -- there's ZERO going for sexy despite these two stunning young women.mwink.gif

Time of day was, in fact late in the day but sunset would have gotten us thrown out and we actually had to talk our way past a very stern cop on the way out (apparently they didn't like us in the abandoned building where we shot the silhouettes). My crazy friend Dusty says a girl isn't a real model till she has almost gotten arrested at least once.rolleyes1.gif

Thanks for the comments, as always. In payment, here's # 5 SOOC. The focus, for me, is the semi-demented look on Anylza. She absolutely nailed the intended ambiguity.

and here's a truly blurred, selectively colored Ann Marie so you can really hate something:

I'm going to agree with Diva. It's an interesting concept but the lighting and filter application are distractions from the mood you are trying to convey. 5 would have been better if you used DOF instead of a blurring filter.

For this concept the lighting is more important than location. There isn't anything here that screams it needed to be at an abandoned asylum at the expense of shooting in better light. For me it is better to not shoot if lighting conditions are not good or find another location.

Definitely not my style butttttttt......I really like 3 & the concept and execution of 4. The rest have to meet your criteria to be successful. Good stuff and great imagination.

Thanks Hack. When I go experimental like this half is gonna loves them and half is gonna hates them. I have no problem with that but what you see is what was in my head. Scary huh?? rolleyes1.gif

Thanks Kom. One never knows the reaction with a concept set.
