My friend wanted a "model" treatment beach shoot. She was going for sexy without being overt.

Beautiful work and model, your friend should be very happy with those shots.

Love the creamy background, what lens did you use?

    Regards.

    Thanks, 1-7 was a 70-200 2.8 on a D700. The others I used a D300/18-200 combo.

Very nice set. What did you use for fill light in the evening shots?

Thanks!, for 1,6,7 I used a sb-800 modified with a lumiquest softbox III.

    For 8,9 I used an alienbee400 with a silver/gold reflective umbrella.

Thanks, and she did a great job on keeping her poses even when she said she felt awkward. She started to feel better once she saw saw they actually looked.

The mix of flash and ambient are just spectacular on the daylight shots. I also like how the background scenes convey "Beach" without being obtrusive. The model is certainly the focus of the images.

I really like number eight in the sunset portion. Lighting is really wonderful. The other sunsets look a bit too hot flash wise to me.

Nice set. You nailed the light in #8 especially. It's easy to make that shot look photoshopped, but you pulled it off.

Thank you. I'm trying to get a good mix of natural light and strobed for the customers.

Thanks. She said she felt stupid with some of the poses I was putting her in but then she got excited about how they looked when she saw the LCD shots.
