Collage Lanscape showing as thumbnails (not croped)

Hi,

It may have been reported yet but I didn't find any trace whitin the forum...

My problem is very strange :
- Default site setting is set to Collage Landscape
- When I go to one gallery (for example : http://oscour.smugmug.com/Public/Portraits-1) I may have the style Collage Lanscape. But if I refresh the page without doing anything else, I may have another style like thumbnails but not squared. Or all images thumbnails not square and one image bigger like in Collage Lanscape mode...

My theme is based on the Smugmug Theme and few modifications are made.

Could you help me please ?
Thanks

Oscour, that is how Collage landscape is supposed to work.

Collage Landscape is not a "fixed" layout, any refresh will make the layout algorithm run again, and usually leads to a different display of differently-resized images. All of the images should keep their original height/width ratio (i.e. they aren't cropped) so they won't be square unless the original is square.

There is a thread on the forum that discusses the shortcomings of how the layout algorithm works, see http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=1895213#post1895213

    Hope that helps.

Oh, and don't forget that the Collage Landscape layout that you see on your monitor may not be the same as a visitor would see on a different-resolution monitor thumb.gif

Thanks for your answer beardedgit thumb.gif

But what if I'd like to have always bigger images ?
Maybe I'm wrong but I think gallery content block can't be edited to define the border size of the images, min-size of images, etc. ?

    Thanks

That's not possible with the current Collage Landscape algorithm, because we users are not allowed any control over it :(:

Maybe you could try a different gallery style? Journal Style, perhaps?

Indeed... if you are using a custom page with a multiple photos content block you can select collage landscape and select a larger photo size. Once more a silly restriction of smugmug.

Ok that works but I can't make a custom page for each gallery...
But it's good to know that ! Thanks !

That's a pity we can't modify this :cry

I logged a feature request for this. See (and add your voice to) Allow selection of a larger size for collage style galleries.
