Hello to the group. I have been away from Dgrin for a few years and I have enjoyed getting caught up with you over the last week. I took my daughter's Senior Pictures a few years ago and that has resulted in taking a couple seniors a year since then. I recommend that they contact a local professional and look at my Web site. I tell them if they like what I have done, I'm happy to take the portraits and I am not offended if they go to someone else. While I generally like the pictures I get, I know there is lots of room for improvement. Looking at the pictures you all are posting, I think you can help me go from OK to great and I thank you in advance for your help.

Some of these were her favorites and some mine. I had her set up a Pinterest page with pose ideas that we worked from in our pre-shoot meeting to talk about poses, location and wardrobe.

1. I used a diffuser on the right side, but wish I had used a reflector on the left side or a fill flash to get some light into her eyes.

2.This is one of her favorites. I like the pose generally, but think it could have been more flattering for her. How would you change the pose? My thought for next time would be for her to drop one leg and make her right shin parallel to the ground.

3.Another of her favorites. I like it too, but would like to have been about 6 inched to a foot higher.

4. This was her top choice.

5. Another top pick of hers.

The last two are my favorites that didn't make it to her final 5.

Again, thank you in advance for taking the time to comment.

#1. I agree with your comment about needing light in her eyes. I think that a fill flash would've helped with that, and with brightening up the left side.
#2. I don't think this is a flattering pose for most people. Turning her sideways, looking at the camera; and, like you said, maybe one leg straight.
#3. It kind of bothers me where her leg is chopped off. Also, again I agree with you about being a little higher with the camera. Maybe you could crop it in a different spot? Her expression is really nice.
#4. This is really cute...I like that you've included her entire body, and the pose is sweet and innocent.
#5. There are some shadows on her face that maybe you could touch up? The smile is natural and beautiful!
#6. Her face is just a bit under-exposed compared to the rest of the picture--maybe a little dodging just on her face? Again, a great expression.
#7. Once again, a beautiful smile! Her face could use a bit of lightening on this one, as well. Also the crop bothers me--I wish I could see all of her hands, or neither of them.

She's a beautiful girl, and it looks like you captured her personality and sunny disposition.
