D200 shipping...who wants mine?
I got my email notification from Roberts Imaging in Indianapolis that my D200 is ready and that they'll hold it until 4pm Friday. I have to call and give my password that they included in email.
Anyone interested in purchasing this one? I haven't put any money down so no problems from me.
Email me at macosxuser at in sight bb dot com (no spaces obviously)

Man...How I wish it was me getting that camera. :cry
It would be for a friend of mine, but I will let you know if she does not like it. I hope to take it for a test ride soon.

I am #22 on a list here at a local store so I may have another one available..unless my D2H sells before then.
They said they would give the first to sign up the first chance to pay up. If you do they will ship you one of the first ones they get. I hope they show up tomorrow. I am curious to see what I think of it.

It is not the 20th yet, my friend ordered it and I hope to see it when it arrives, unless I go on vacation first.
John, the D200 is my only Xmas present to myself and I have embraced the fact that I will spend the day helping the kids play with theirs and not my D200. If it is still available, I will send you a cashiers check for it immediataly. Let me know.

I hope it arrived alright?
Yes it did. I finally held it for a few minutes today. This is my friend's first digital camera. It is about time.
And so..what did you think? What did they think and how do they like it?
I liked it. I did not have a good Nikon lens to test it with, so I think that was a limiting factor and not a lot of time to test it out.
The early thought is if you are already Nikon it is great for you, if you don't have a DSLR yet it would probably be my first pick if it matches your budget a great first camera. I think it one ups the 20D, but my experience with that camera is limited. I would however wait until PMA 2006 (Feb) to see what Canon brings to the table. The one item Nikon has not addressed is the SB800 which does not allow the flash head to rotate 180 either direction and Canon did this with the 580EX, for the shooting I do I am often using that extra range. I will try to write more later, but so far so good. The 2.5" screen is definitely sweet.

at a minimum you have to wait until PMA to see all the latest and greatest. Why jump ship now, you will only want a 40D when it comes out.

No I only meant wait until the next PMA Feb 26-Mar 1, 2006. I thought you were a poor student anyway.
I would hope Canon will let us know what is coming up in January, only a little time to wait. Macworld is coming up soon too, so save a few bucks for a new computer or for the new ipod quark. :lol
