The pose and expressions are absolutely adorable! I might try a portrait crop (rather than landscape); and also lighten the photo up a bit. Otherwise, so good!

It's a really cute shot and good advice from Kate. The only other thing I noticed is that the bars in the fence aren't vertical. I can't tell if it is the fence or if you had the camera angled a little. Can you try straightening them when you crop? Welcome to Dgrin and keep posting.

given the building in the back, I think it is the fence.
I love the facial expressions, but would want more light on them as well.

Welcome RyRit!!! Really like the pose and expressions. It truly is fun to look at. I think Kate's initial thought was to keep the close crop, but change it to portrait. This would allow you to straighten the fence and bump up the exposure to more correctly expose the faces. The background may blow out a little, but with a closer crop there wouldn't be too much; really focusing of the father and daughter.

I am about as far from a professional as they come though so I am really just stating what I would try. Glad to see you here and sharing. It is a great community and a great place to improve!

The kid seems to be a natural. Great expression on her face. :)
