It seems the new Smugmug requires jumping through two or three menus to add or edit the title of an image. Is there a simpler approach I am missing.
The same is true for gallery descriptions, although not so tedious.
Is the best approach to add a description to metadata before upload?
Thanks.

You can edit the title for any photo by clicking the wrench icon beneath that photo in the gallery > Edit > Photo Details. You can set the title, caption, and keywords here. Or, you are welcome to add your keywords, captions and titles to your photo metadata before uploading, and SmugMug will show that info for each image in the gallery automatically (as long as you use the proper metadata fields to enter your titles. captions, etc).

Thanks. It would be nice to be able to just click edit beneath the photo, add the title, then done. The other is slower, particularly with a medium speed internet connection.
It probably does make sense to add captions in the image before uploading, but I don't always remember.
I was hoping for a batch edit caption or title function.

You can batch edit captions of all the photos in the gallery.

There is a feature request to add the titles to this tool. You can follow it here.

    Hope this helps!

I found batch edit captions and keywords finally under manage. Click the gallery you want under manage, then click the wrench icon at the top of the page. Gallery tools and image tools are bolded, with several grayed out options beneath each. I kept trying to click on the bolded line thinking it was the active link. I finally realized the fainter grayed out links were the active ones.
Clicking on edit captions and keywords got me the functionality that I needed.
Now that I understand that menu better i don't think I will forget.
