Unablel to set my current preview as "current"

I'm trying to build out my new smug mug page, and when I choose "choose new site design" it lists two options...
The first "Copy of Smokey" I created first, and the "Sophie Var03" I've been working on.
The problem is, I can't seem to ever make "Sophie var03" display as "current".... no matter how many times I work on it and "save for later".
This is keeping me from creating PAGES (about/services,etc) for the site... as I can only add pages to the "current" design (Smokey).
Make sense? Super frustrating... am I doing something wrong???? :dunno How can I set the design I want to keep working on as "current"? Or at least how can I create pages for a design that isn't current?

Is this right, you have not unveiled yet. Meaning you still have legacy mode as public?
Then, inside customizing site, when you are done customizing, click Done in the upper right, and Publish.
This will publish privately to you, like "save for me only".
I think then, you need to assign the theme you are working with, to each section of your site. So in Customize Site, go to All folders, for example. If what you see is not the theme you want, then go to theme (black area, tab on right), and scroll down to My Themes. Open it and choose the theme you want to apply. When you have it in place, click Done and Publish again.
Repeat for each section of your site that is not showing you the theme you want.
In the end, after publishing, you should be able to scroll through all of your site and see just the one theme.
Continue customizing any part of your site, and to save the changes, do so with Done/Publish.
Some people have used "preview" instead of publish. I don't know what this does and haven't used it, and have heard it is buggy in some respect.
thanks all!
