Passwords dropping off

Set a password on a folder & it worked fine for a while but then inexplicably it just disappeared. I viewed logged out after setting it & it was there but then next time I went on it was not?? I'm using the new Smug - just created a new site actually. I was just about to pass the info to the client that needed the folder but I can't get the password to reset. I'm entering it hitting done then publish but it drops off every time???
Under a deadline......HELP!
