Stopping Lightroom4 republishing images

Hi, when I go to publish an image on one of my galleries in Lightroom4 it also shows 'modified photos to republish'. As I don't want any modified photos republished how can I stop it (some of my galleries have hundreds of images so it would take ages!). I have unchecked all the 'Republishing' boxes in the Lightroom Publishing Manager pop up.

Any advice would be greately appreciated

Dave

    G'day Dave,

Despite the plugin having certain triggers for republishing...ultimately it's up to LR to actually mark photos for republishing, and as the plugin developer I am still somewhat amazed how photos get marked for republishing for no apparent reason.

The only advice I have for you is that you can reset them back to being "Published Photos" by right-clicking on the photo or group of photos and select "Mark as Up-To-Date".

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

If these are actually being modified, but you don't want modified items ever republished automatically, you can use JF's plugin (I do not think Smugmug's allows it), and use Export only, and put Publish.

Publish is intended to keep things (mostly) in sync.

Export is a "I'll tell you when, where and how, do nothing unless I tell you" approach, if that fits your needs better.

Caveat: Since SM hasn't released a new API, JF hasn't updated his plugin for the new format, so some things don't work like deep directories.

Note both can be on your machine at once if you decide to experiment.

Thank you both for your replies.

I tried debobo's suggestion and it worked so I will use that in future

Again thank you both for your swift answers.
