A few shots from my time overseas, I truly thought this remote part of Afghanistan and Pakistan was beautiful. Full of color, I wish I had taken a better camera!

These two young boys asked me to take their photo. The next time I saw them I gave them each a print.
3.
The girl in pink was caring for her brother, she hiked up and over the hills in the background holding him just like this. She came to see us in hopes of getting some pens for her school. We proudly gave her all she could carry.

I watched as these two young girls chased this chicken around the road, I thought it was a game until the one wrung its neck. It matches the other girl's hair.

This month's Bike Magazine has an article about mountain biking in that region. Not sure it's a place I'd want to go-at least now.

I was stationed there for a year with the US Army. A small mountain village called Jaji, in the Paktia Provence of Afghanistan, on the border of Pakistan.
