Our God daughter asked me to take her Senior pictures last year. I was already a nervous about doing it and she showed up with her dog, Bear. Can we get some pictures with Bear too? As it turned out, Bear seemed to enjoy himself.

This is really cute...love the angle, the pose & the dog, and she's a pretty girl. The light is a bit harsh on her face, though.

Thanks for the comments. There is so much I need to learn. But, one big topic is managing light for outdoor portraits.

Yup, other than the hard shadow, this is PERFECT. iloveyou.gif

Good image. Pose, angle of attack and framing are spot on in my book.

As mentioned, the light on the subject is harsh. Portraits in direct sunlight are a bugger. A thin white diffuser between the sun and subject may have worked wonders in this situation.

Personally, I would like the leaves in the foreground to be in focus on this shot or a bit tighter corp (4:5 ratio) to lessen the foreground area.

Thanks for the comments. I have since bought a diffuser and, you're right, it probably would have helped here. I may have a 4:5 crop of this around. If I do, I'll throw it up for comparison.
