.png transparency not working

We have a watermark we use for our organization. Here's a FB application:

The original is a transparent png. But when I upload to SM, there is a white background. So, it can't really be used as a watermark. Here's what it looks like in SM: http://www.biodiversityphotography.org/organize/Home/i-GcjHxMb
Is there something I am not getting about setting transparency settings either in PS or SM?
