A few stabs at capturing fall color in the Mammoth Lakes area two weekends ago:
One of the campgrounds in infamous Lundy Canyon. Got lucky and the motorcyclist rode through while I was trying to find a shot.
The infamous streak of aspens along Laurel Creek just outside Mammoth. I found the frozen pool off Sherwin Creek Road. I have some more closeup shots of the color but I like this one with the entire scene best.
One of the peaks of the Sherwin Range, taken by a certain lazy ass while walking dog at the condo in town.
It takes a lot of original thinking to shoot the trail ahead of you. Lundy Canyon.
Convict Lake. While everyone else was shooting all those pretty colors on the western side of the lake, I looked east. Also I didn't feel like driving over there in the morning for the good light.
Thanks for looking. C&C always welcome. FWIW, McGree Canyon was my favorite hike up there. Great fall colors. We were never in the right place at the right time for a good fall color pic, but did manage to catch a really nice sunset as consolation.
Also, shout out to the forest service for keeping trailhead access and outhouses open during the shutdown -- unlike nearby park service.

I do like the bike in the first shot too. In fact, I wouldn't mind being on it either.
