I have been browsing some of the 70 pages on here discussing the new Smug, & cannot find any help on how to do this (I did not look at every post, that would be ridiculous). I just want to have the pages linked on my home page to WORK.

On my homepage I want links to pages for:

About
Spaceflight (with individual galleries)
Aviation (with individual galleries)
Weddings & Engagements
Landscapes / Scenic
Travel
Blog

Someone please help, I'm sure this is stupid simple & I am just making it more complicated in my frustration. I just want those links on my homepage to work. Also, will I have to create new pages, or will the site automatically use the old versions (like my ABOUT page)?

My site is www.MikeKillianPhotography.com (the old site is what viewers will see until I am done creating the new one).

Please HELP!

Have you tried adding a menu element block to entire site?

Add the menu element block, click the wrench icon, specify the look on the Basic Tab, and add your links on the Links tab.

See the navigation section of this help page - http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/1222523-customization-how-do-i-make-a-navigation-menu-.

The About page on your legacy site is in the style Journal (Old). That style no longer exists in new smug. You can leave it as is but it will be changed to the style Journal with large photos and the captions under the photos. Take a look at the gallery. If you don't like the look you can create a new page to hold that content. (If you look at "about" on my site, that is a page.)

I'm a bit new at this but will try my best.
Have you "unveiled" yet? Or are you playing between legacy and new? I'm doing the latter which might affect a little of this, but this should help somehow.

In customizing site, on the right side black column at the top, click Entire Site. What you do next will now affect entire site.
Then, look for the tab for content.
In the list is Navigation. Click the + to open the options.
Using your mouse, drag a Menu block onto your site.
You will see highlighted areas pop up and around, left right, horizontal or vertical.
Try moving the block to the top where a Navbar menu would normally be. When you find the horizontal highlighted area, drop the block there.

Then you'll see two icons in the upper left bar of the navbar block, a triangle for position, and a wrench for settings.

Click the wrench. Adjust the basic settings tab as you like.
Click the Links tab and proceed to add links. You can delete the defaults if you wish, now or later.
As you add folders as links, you can click "include folder contents", which will show the viewer, on hover over the link, the sub-menu of folders and links.

It can be a little complicated to get all the links and sublinks right. So for now see if you can get the mechanics of this.

Thanks guys, Denise I followed your instructions and I appreciate the help, was very simple once I realized HOW to do this. I see what you mean about the journal-style with my ABOUT section. No problem, will turn that into a page and use that instead.

I'm sure I will be back on here very shortly, lol, asking for help with other details as I pimp out my new website haha

    Thanks again!
