After spending the last week working on converting my old SM site into the new SM, I was ready for a break. I've been converting one of our unused rooms (happens when 2 of your kids are in college) to a studio and wanted to do some testing. Luckily my youngest daughter was a willing subject tonight.

#1 I think this is my new favorite of her...

I think it's an umistabkeable quality of light. I have found that I've been using my Westcott-style softboxes more (I use speedlights) simply because they're easier to set up, but I always love the light the Softliter gives me - it almost has a glow to the way it wraps around curves and planes. Love my 43" version (and keep considering getting the 60" :)

Great light, I also think it's best in 2. Although I wish she was smiling.

These are so much better than the shite excreted by the agency my kids' elementary school hires. It makes me want to do it, but I don't think I have that kind of time. Do you do schools?

These are really nice, especially #2. I know it's hard to get photos with a red background where the skin doesn't have a red cast--nice job!

Thanks guys. I find it interesting that people seem to gravitate to #2. I wonder if it is because that is the only one that is lit from the side? The others were lit from the front in more of a beauty light set up. I know lots of folks don't like this type of lighting setup but I love it with the right subject.

I am gonna go against the grain here.... I personally like #1. Lighting is wonderfull on all of them but there is something about the first one that resonates with me.
