I think #3 for the clarity of colour and detail. It's the work or effort that matters, and that makes the results when all foci combine by often unpredictable course ...

Mark - agree - I like taking a whole sequence of shots when the opportunity arises but then have trouble deciding which ones I like or want to keep.
Unfortunately I know my taste is not the same as many. For example I often like complexity in pictures which allow my eyes/brain to spend many minutes finding things in the picture rather than the more classic simplicity in pictures which has an initial impact and then not much for afters.
