Hello, excuse my ignorance.

I have my own domain connected to smugmug. www.Georgespyros.com
I created this domain a few years ago for the purpose of smugmug, with the instructions we had then.

How can i have my own e-mail? info@georgespyros.com for example?

Is it like any other pop e-mail service?

Can i set a mail-server up as usual? Or things are different, and my domain is restricted somehow?

Regards.

Which company did you register your domain name with? Some of them will provide an email service for you. Others will allow you to configure your domain's DNS settings so you can use a third-party email solution.

SmugMug domains by GoDaddy Order Confirmation

So i should go searching in GoDaddy's FAQ/INFO/HELP etc right?

Your email provided by GoDaddy should also be free as it comes with your domain. At least it did with mine. Also, if you use the "catch all" option you may open yourself to spammers using your domain email. I had this problem recently where a spammer sent out a test email from RANDOM CHARACTERS@my domain name. Someone replied asking what it was about.

While SmugDomains are provided by GoDaddy, you can't login to manage them through the GoDaddy site. You'd need to use the link that should have been included in your domain details.
Of course, you can always use the "login to GoDaddy" link that's available here.

To check on what services are included with your domain, log in to your domain. Then you should be able to see the details. There's also a FAQ linked from the page where you log in, to provide you with additional information.

Sorry to spoil the thread, but hopefully according to its name my question fits here just fine ....

I tried to devine a testing Event and send invitation email to testing customer. The trouble is, that our domains use srict antispam rules via SFP policy, where only certain IP address is allowed to claim, that email originated from correct server. Now I am not sure, how to solve that situation. I might probably add alternative IP address in the list, but Smugmug IP address of server might change in the future.

Has anyone else experience problems, when Smugmug tries to send email on behalf of your domain?

    Thanks,
    Petr

I sent a couple of test emails and it looks like email is sent from both sv1-mx4.smugmug.net (note, .net not .com) and sv1-mx5.smugmug.net. There isn't any -mx1 through -mx3, or -mx6, so I guess that's it.

Those both belong to 208.79.44.0/22, which is AS11266, an IP address block that SmugMug owns. If you add that range to your SPF record (i.e. "ip4:208.79.44.0/22"), it should work for a good long while.

EDIT: Actually, SmugMug has instructions for adding SPF records here:

    http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/1013123-concerned-that-emails-sent-from-your-smugmug-site-are-not-reaching-your-visitors-

They suggest adding an include for the SPF record of smugmug.com, which would guarantee it continues to work in the future. That record is currently "v=spf2.0/pra mx ptr ip4:208.79.44.0/22 include:_spf.google.com include:amazonses.com include:cmail1.com -all"

thank you very much! Appreciated. I will look into it. However - my testing period ended, and I bought just the Power version to start with. Business plan of 300 USD is quite expensive for me right now. But I will look into the solution you provided anyway, as one day I might decide to upgrade my account ...
