Red ant refuelling on honeydew.



"Reindeer" parasitoid wasp 1.7mm body length. Apparently branched antennae in parasitoid wasps means they are males.


A sad chalcid wasp. Body length 1.5mm


Small fly on fence. ID'd as Chamaemyiidae, Leucopis sp

I rarely have a clue what I'm looking at but it fascinates me none the less.

As always, exposure is right on and the images are crisp. Very nice set.

Thanks ian - just bugs from the garden but I still find ones I haven't seen before.
