Aperture ... so close, so very close, title

I've finally been able to play with Aperture 3.5 (I had a small disk crash so it took a while) and I really like the SmugMug integration. It will become a perfect complement to the Smuginforaperture plugin.

However, there is this little problem of photo titles. As far as I've understand Aperture sets the photo title based on the version field, not the the title field or the headline field. I've not been able to find any post or other information to change this. So to make sure I haven't missed anything ... have I missed some way of changing this?

I did a small test on a photo and set the title, headline and caption fields to unique text strings and exported it to a jpeg that I uploaded to smugmug. Smugmug seem to use the photo title field to set the title field on the site (as would be expected). But if synchronize the same photo the version name is used to set the title field.

I assume this is a "feature" of Aperture and not a bug at Smugmug?

    Hi Jan,

Aperture is changing your title when you are creating new version of an image. You can go back to the Metadata description window and change it to a title of your choice.

Sure, but feels a bit strange that I need to change the title, the headline AND the version name every time I want to set the title of a photo.
