Bravo! But I'm having difficulty getting to the photo spread on the magazine website. I'm using Unix and running Mozilla at work. Anyone else having problems? I click on the tiny thumbnail at the top of the page with Andrew's photo, I get a pop-up window, but cannot go to the other best-of-2005 photos.

    Congratulations, Andrew!

I'm a big fan of your work. The enormous technical accompishment, creativity, variety makes wonderfully magical images that captivate me as a viewer.

    I consider you my mentor.

I just posted my first thread of bike pictures. Please take a look and tell me what you think of this neophyte's initial efforts:

    Much appreciated,

    WTG Andrew clap.gifclap.gif

    Well deserved recognition thumb.gif

I'd like to second Saxon's request and ask you to please comment on some of the other bike shots in the Forum. He is right in thinking of you as a mentor for this type of shooting and I know lots of other bike shooters would love to read whatever you're willing to share :D

Congrats again and that is a really nice shot,

    Oh boy!

All the kind words (and mentor!) I need a lie down!!

I will try a little harder to share some of the knoweldge I have gained.

It has been a (unexpected) wildy busy year for me and so I haven't had much time (or as much as I would 've liked) to share/comment/critique on some of the fine images shared in here, BUT, I will try a little harder...

    Andrew,

Congrats on the POTY (that doesn't sound quite right).

I was looking through Sport Rider's photo annual the other day. Nothing
like we're used to seeing here thumb.gif

I'll throw in my request for some tips and techniques too.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Andrew, congrats on the pic it is good to know that sometimes something as simple as a head shot can make a differance and be used as POTY. Anyhow seems i have not spent enough time looking at the fprums here as i am always stuck on my other camera forums, so looks like i am missing out on heaps. Well done once again.

thumb.gif To all of you too!

Thank you. I was asked why was this picked by someone...

Well I guess it's becuase it's so different other than what is considered "the norm" that people really perked up over it.

The AD wrote to me and to paraphrase said "that this is one of best images he had ever seen", so my comments in Shawn's MMM thread about being told to shoot what I like rather than what's out there has started to bear fruit.

I see this at every race meet, people habitually going to the same photo holes getting the same images they did at last years race and the only things that change per se are possibly the riders and *maybe* the bikes...

    Sould destroying.

Me, i ask where is everyone going and go somewhere else...

Even if it's *into the sun*

    Thanks again all.
