HELP w/ sdown091

I am a brand new member on these forums but a long time SmugMug user and I am trying to download a VERY large galary (1200+ pics)
I am using sdown091, (if it matters my system is WinXP Home, Pentium 4 2.0 ghz, 1 gig RAM)
after I start the program and select my directory I recieve an error saying that one of my files begins with an invalid character, once this happens the program locks and will not continue. Is there a workaround for this, another program that would work better? I really need to get these pics saved to my PC and don't want to open each pic one by one and save them. :dunno
