Amazing sky this morning, here in SW Indiana. Just barely got this shot. As soon as the sun peaked over the horizon all the colors quickly faded.

This is an 8 image composite compiled using HDR Efex. It was shot through my Leica 25mm f1.4 at f8. The shutterspeed was changed incrementally from 1/30 second down to 0.8 second. Using the "Dark" template in HDR Efex, I made some depth, tone, and color adjustments. Brought it back into LR to make final tweaks. I actually ended up removing a bright yellow building from the background using LR 5's awesome spot removal tool. Ended up with a 48mb tif and a 12mb jpeg.

Amazing colors and cool composition. I think the HDR may have been pushed a bit too far as there are some masking artifacts.

Thank you for your kinds words, and yeah, you right about the HDR being a bit overdone.

I'm usually not a fan of HDR photography. To me, it gives an artificial look to a photograph. But this shot is fabulous. I may yet become a fan of HDR. Nicely done!

not bad for HDR. love the colors, the ability to bring out the foreground. agree with it being slightly overcooked, but that is only slight. overall, quite stunning and does not have the typical HDR artificial feel.

It usually hinges on how much creative control is exercised. If you just accept whatever the software spits out, you end up with something you don't like, usually.

Thank you for your kind words.
