Search results page customisation

Liking the new search page, but the results aren't showing up with the same format or style as my default gallery style and there doesn't seem to be anywhere for me to change it. Any ideas?

Unfortunately this is a known defect reported back in August.

See result of search shows thumbnail style in tight grid, doesn't honor design default.

I don't know how to change this - maybe someone else has a customization we can apply, haven't seen one yet.
