Display Captions in Slideshow

Is there any way of displaying captions in a slideshow? I seem to recall this was possible in the old smugmug. I'm referring to the full screen slideshow when pressing the slideshow button in a gallery.

I'm not aware of any way to customize the slideshow started with the slideshow button.

You could file a request of that in the SmugMug Feature Requests (after looking to see if one already exists).

I also want captions to show and have requested that feature several times over a year ago. Has any progress been made or is Smugmug uninterested in adding this feature. I label my picture with the scientific name and location and I would like my viewers to still be able to see it if they use the slideshow button.

I'm sorry, there's no update on captions in the full screen gallery slideshow. However, you can have them if you set a gallery to slideshow style as you can customize certain settings of our gallery styles.
To customize the gallery styles, click on customize > customize site within a gallery and hold your mouse over the gallery content. Click the wrench button to bring up the gallery style settings screen.
