List-sourced slideshows don't show

I made a slideshow on a page, and specified the source as Photos I choose, then chose a bunch from an unlisted gallery. They showed up fine on preview and when I published the page, while I was logged in. But when I logged out the slideshow did not show up at all on the page.

I got around the problem by creating a new Gallery, also unlisted, and then Collecting (not copying) the desired files therein. Now they show up okay. But this workaround clutters up my site with unlisted galleries to support individual pages.

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature request.

I just confirmed the slideshow set to 'photos I choose' does not display. If you set the slideshow to 'gallery' an unlisted gallery will display the photos in the slideshow.
