Fixed height option does not resize to fullscreen in slideshow

I have a slideshow on a page set to fixed height at 400 px. When the fullscreen slideshow is activated with the control, the first image is seen at full size for an instant, then reverts to 400px, appearing at the top of the screen. The remaining pictures in the slideshow are also 400 px.

This problem goes away if I change the height setting from fixed to auto, but then the slideshow is too small for my page.

The slideshow on the left goes properly to fullscreen images, but does not fill the black box on the page. The slideshow on the right fills the page properly, but shows small images in fullscreen mode.

Using Firefox 25.0 on a mac 10.6.8.
