Hey, all! I've been slammed with work, no shooting for most of this year.

I just got back from a way-too-short trip to Utah with Muench Workshops. One of our stops was at Goblin Valley State Park, on a day that was just gray, gray, gray. I was disappointed, and thought I'd give my new pano setup a whirl (I upgraded from a single pano rail to a multi-row set up from RRS). All of these are at least two row panos, minimum 12 exposures, all shot with my 24mm 1.4 on a D600.

I'd love comments and feedback, and I'd really like to know which, if any, is your favorite and least favorite of the set.

    Hey David,

Very nice series. My favorite is " C " . The foreground is real close, yet the background gives a real nice view of the surrounding area....gives a good sense of scale to the scene. That's quite some interesting terrain. The fact that you had gray, gray skies may have worked in your favor. Such skies seem more fitting to your subject matter, as opposed to a bunch of fluffy white clouds in a blue sky. Good workthumb.gif

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks for the feedback, Tom. Much appreciated.

This is the same area, btw, that the scout leaders toppled a formation and were caught when they posted a video of it. It is a felony offense!

Those guys made Forest Gump look like a Rocket Scientist.... hope they got merit badges for foolish stupidity... :crazy

Hard to pick a favorite.... each will have appeal to different eyes - I'll say "A" because of the overall balance, textures, and hint of distant background. Nice conversions too!

    Yah. Idjuts!

Thanks for the comments. I used a combination of NIK Silver Efex Pro and Lightroom for the conversions. I like A, too. On Facebook I titled it "Tweede-dum and Tweedle-dee". I do have a hard time picking ONE, though. The only thing I'm pretty sure about is which is my least favorite.

I keep coming back to these David, and can't decide on a favorite. I love the clarity and compositions in these. For whatever reason, I like the first three best. If 4 had been presented alone, it would have been great. But within this set for some reason that I can't articulate, it doesn't hold my attention like the first three. But it's still a very strong shot.

Thanks for the feedback! I think in 4 the small rock on the right is too easy to pass over, for me the two rocks are what tie it together, but the one on the right is almost falling out of the frame. I may look at recropping to address that, I don't know.

I really like these. Of the set, D is my favorite. I couldn't explain why, except that the ingredients all coalesce in a way that I like. Good work.

I'm kinda partial to C. E is a close second followed by D.

Nice processing on all of them!

Were you able to see the damage done by those two "scout leaders"?

Thanks, and no, I didn't happen to see that. We talked about it, but no one saw it.
