Thanks for looking. This was a game about faces... I usually shoot in portrait and keep things pretty tight. I tried something new. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for the comments.

I think,I should have been laying on the ground. These kids usually ran face down chasing the ball.

Well done. I remember when my sons played at a very young age and it was called swarm ball and then they moved to playing the game and other sports.

Your objective of capturing facial expressions was a great idea. You certainly did met your goal!

In general, my favorite thing to remember for sports photography is FACT - Face, Action, Contact (with Toy, person, etc.) and Toy (ball, stick, etc.) and when you get all four you are very lucky. Certainly some of those above have all four and the others are excellent too. Well done!

Nice work, I shoot youth sports too. A few could be cropped tighter, but I like the stories being told here. Good job getting low, shooting manual, and shooting wide open.

An "accurate" reproduction of a scene and a good photograph are often two different things.

    Thanks Phil,
I always try for FACT, though I generally change eye for face. They kids closed their eyes before contact during contact and a lot of the times after. I have a sequence of one boy kicking the ball and I don't think anyone could have kicked higher than he did. Foot above head, eyes closed and the ball well it went a few feet in the wrong direction. The White team has won every game, this one was 5-0.

    Thanks Jack,
I always crop to the original size photo and not because I know anything. I am totally self taught have a desire to take a good photo and shoot for my enjoyment. What ever insight you can provide I would be happy to listen and consider.

Some day I might be as smart as my old camera and then maybe understand how it works. In the mean time I am just trying to figure it out. So far so good.
