So I was asked to shoot a session for a co-worker who I had shot a Maternity session for. You can see a shot from that session here …

I dont aim to be a baby photographer but she was persistent so how can I deny a good reason to for more general practice. The baby was pretty fussy only letting me snap shots quickly when placed down. As soon as she was placed I probably had about 3 seconds before she fussed. As always feel free to leave C&C.

No offense, I was trying a preset I set up in LR4 due to request from other people asking if I can edit images w/ that low contrast look. It so happens I had the basic edited version of this session and just for kicks a set of these I kept around after playing w/ them. I only tried this because I did this edit for one of her Maternity shots (linked above) and she loved it. When she came over I opened up LR4 for a basic ones over and she fell heads over heals for this look aside from the simpler edits. Im so green to photography im still utilizing every session as a experimental edit. I feel over time a natural look wll start to show itself but it takes time to develope a style you want to stamp as your own. I get alot of inspiration checking out all of you guys work and sometimes i'll build up enough confidence to show some of mines.
Thanks, her favorite also. She had a tang top on in the original picture. She wasn't comfortable doing topless even w/ my wife assisting. She had no idea i did the clean up for #5 and #6. After seeing them she wished she wuld have known how much classier and natural it looks, she would have saved me the edit time. lol.
I would really like to see one or two without the unique post processing though. It's just me, I'm an old school kind of guy.
Thats the beauty, every has there opinion! So here are 2 basic edits …
My routine is basically to filter through images and do a quick basic edit so the client can come and select the images they want which in turn will get more editing like skin touch ups and more techniques I prefer to do in PS over LR. The final edit, shown above in the beginning continued to step 2 due to her request. This basic edit posted here would have eventually had a bit more edit to them but would basically resemble a straight forward image if she would have wanted this look.
I was aiming for that for the mom/baby pics. Instead just displaying the baby i wanted to show a connection. Thanks.
