Needing to adjust "Space in between" in Galleries

I'm trying to adjust the space between on my gallery.

Unfortunately, the Heroe helping told me after 3 hours of going back and forth (whom was a lot of help) said .... "the actual gallery can't be modified - you'd need to use advanced customizations to modify the spacing. I'd suggest posting a new thread on the customization forum: http://dgrin.com/forumdisplay.php?f=64

He's tried even showing me how to do it via this video http://screencast.com/t/ZXgPftwzt but that wasn't the solution to the actual gallery itself. I wanted to show a 1 pixel gap in between the photos but here in this link it shows it at 10-20 pixels of a gap. (http://chriskimphoto.smugmug.com/PORTFOLIO/Engagement) No where on the smugmug website will it allow that gap to be customized BESIDES in gallery settings and I'm not allowed to change the settings in that default content. Do I just make my own galleries?

So I'm coming to you guys in hopes of answers!

Add your voice to the feature request thread asking for the ability to customize on the gallery level. Currently you'd have to design and implement your own system. I've been working on doing just that, but the inability to copy page templates makes it unfeasible at this time.
