Just about to start packing up for the evening and got treated to a show by a larger group than normal? of these fellows (and fellowettes, presumably)

Tried a few shots and liked this the most :)

    What an interesting shot! Not sure I've ever seen so many birds in one shot before! They make quite a pattern. Best, Pam

    Pam, thanks for looking / commenting and yes, there were quite a few around that evening :)
    My shot probably represents about half the flock present and it would've been difficult to get them all in frame - even if I'd wanted to - because of distances involved, and the fact I'd only got a 500 with me.
    Uncropped, btw.

    I often have this pic lodged in the grey matter ... although there's no way I'd traipse all over for 4 months to get it, methinks ... the difference between a pro and rank amateur, eh ?
