Not able to prevent search finding galleries?

I have my site set up with no search box and specific galleries set to not be part of search or visible in the UI. When I browse to my site as a visitor, there is still a search box in the upper right hand corner, and I can find the 'hidden' galleries using that. How do I prevent that from happening?

I think there might be a short delay between changing a gallery's search settings and those being applied to the search results, so try waiting a little while and retrying.

If it has been a long time since you made those galleries unsearchable and they still turn up, contact the help desk along with links to your galleries and they should be able to tell you why.

Bartman, you might have the SmugMug Header enabled in customize > customize site > settings. If you don't want the search box to appear to logged out visitors, you could disable the SmugMug header. As for being able to find unlisted/private galleries, please email us at the help desk and provide a link to a gallery that you got a result for logged out, and we will be happy to have a look.
