Been a while since I posted on dgrin. Thought I would get back into the swing of things for a little while. Welcome feedback, critiques, sage wisdom, smart alecky remarks included :D.

Setting: the oft shot Mount Shuksan from Heather Meadows area, North Cascades, Washington State. This is not quite Picture Lake in the foreground, which lays a short shuffle away, but Highwood Lake, or what I call Picture Lake Wannabe. The classic shot of Shuksan unobstructed reflected by Picture Lake was not obtained as 1) I had to hike some yards through the snow without snowshoes 2) Picture Lake was mostly forzen over by this time. But in essense, I wussed out and sought the comfort of my nearby car without damp and cold extremities. To my defense, I was doing a overnight time lapse, so spending hours upon hours away from the car would sort of suck.

This was shot a week ago.

These look great even at these small sizes, Dan. I'll bet they'd look ever better if they were larger. mwink.gif

thanks kdog. tinkering around with the uploading process again. embedded a link to the original within the photo now, for any interested in seeing a larger size and with excess time on their hands :D
also below (i hope) is the time lapse. haven't added music to it, so just go and hum your own rocking concerto or whatever appropo sounds you see fit if you want.

the cooler one was at the start of the evening (around 10-12 pm). the warmer one was with dawn approaching nearing 5 am. approximate times, as the star trail one was near 45 min to an hour exposure, if i recall. one of the casualties of doing long exposure on a super wide lens.

Wow. The first one rocks, and the second one is great too (I'm not really into star trails).

The title is so suitable thumb.gif

I, too, really love the first one--I like the static stars, and that COLOR!
