Death Valley's Mosaic Canyon

One of the more pleasant hikes in Death Valley is above Furnace Creek and into Mosaic Canyon..

I would have explored more but the sky was threatening and a storm was coming in... You do NOT want to be caught in a slot canyon if a flood comes your way..

Hi, really like #2, especially as you can see the approaching storm in the background.

    Cheers, Richard.

Been there! Its nice place! It really glows before sunset! #3 is unique and gorgeous! I didn't see this one! It can go on for miles, I only did 2-3 miles if I recall correctly. Cheers!

Thanks guys.. I went in quite a ways looking for some high ground to get a good shot of the Valley.. The storm was moving in quickly though, so we turned around and hiked back out.. Didn't make it all the way though...

Here is a shot of the heavy raindrops freckling the dusty rock as I climbed up and out to safety.. finished the hike on the higher ground... ;)

This year the Valley flooded severely and closed down many of the roads, including main access roads, and hike areas which are still not yet cleared from the mud and debris..

Great shots, Larry. Better than anything I've gotten at Mosaic. Maybe I need to go back now. :D
