How can I download a SmugMug video embedded in a website?

Hello,

To start off, I need to say that I have no experience whatsoever. I do not have an account.

Basically, I found a great video on a website (Site with video) and would like to download it, but no matter what I've done, I can't find the video on SmugMug nor download the video.

Embedded link: http://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/2909447107_6jSb59t?width=640&height=360&albumId=33507503&albumKey=8p9zDV

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I believe the video is coded to not allow you to download it, as it belongs to the owner. You could contact the site owner and inquire about options for download, or perhaps purchase.

Hmm, well, that is technically illegal. My suggestion would be to request permission from the owner.

There is a way to download a video in its mp4 format, but I'm not sure if you have to be logged in as the owner to do it.

That being said, if you like that particular site owner's work, it would be best if you support their abililty to create more videos by seeing what you can do for them in exchange for a good copy of their video. Because right now you're just another ripoff artist stealing someone's work and violating federal copyright laws. rolleyes1.gif

Not really sure what is going on here. The site you list isn't a SmugMug site, and those videos are hosted on YouTube. And again, like others have said, downloading this material is illegal.

What planet am I on then?
The link in the first post in this thread, takes me to this video that is on it's own HTML page.
I see Smugmug in the URL.

There's two links. rolleyes1.gif I think you're talking about the second link. We're talking about the first. thumb.gif

Thanks, it's nice to know I'm in the same universe. I had not even seen the first link!
But - it's the 2nd link that matters, right? Not that it matters, I think the issue is more or less resolved in the sense that it was illegal for him to do as he did.

It's the second link that does matter if someone's trying to steal a video. But as with anything that can be viewed on the Internet--if it can be viewed, it can be stolen. :cry

It looks like they switched the SmugMug video with the YouTube videos. the SmugMug video is still linked in my first post.

Interesting. I wonder why they did that. YT doesn't have any IP protection at all. ne_nau.gif
