Dear SmugMug Support:
When visitors click on pages featured on my homepage and get taken to a particular gallery, the gallery is featured for an instant but then the screen goes to a large view of the image that was clicked on. I turned off slideshow in the gallery settings, but this action still occurs. How do I change this action? Thanks for your help!
cheers

You have an "action on click" setting in the block on your homepage, to go to the gallery or to the image in the lightbox, or no action. If you have chosen to go to the gallery, it will bring up the gallery and open up that image for single viewing. When the lightbox is closed the viewer will be in the gallery.

If you have chosen to open the image in the lightbox, the image will open right from the homepage in the lightbox, and when closed, the viewer will still be on the homepage.

If you need anything else, please let us know.

    Take care,

Thank you Wendee. In my mind I was hoping there was a function to route the visitor from the image-to-the-gallery without going into the lightbox right away but I appreciate the clarification.

    Jason,
A way for no lightbox to open, would be to change the gallery style in the gallery in question to SmugMug style. That style displays the larger photo on the side or above thumbnails.

If you'd like to keep the gallery style the same, you could also consider exchanging the multiple photos content block for a galleries content block. You can set the feature image for a given gallery via the gallery settings. That way you would still display a photo of your choice, but clicking on it wouldn't open a specific photo. Of course, this only works if you don't wish to display more than one photo from a given gallery.
